Resources like the Implementation Toolkit and Nursing Faculty Education Guide provide strategies, information and planning tools to help health care settings to implement the recommendations of the Integrating Smoking Cessation into Daily Nursing Practice guideline.
Spotlight Organizations:
- As well as using tools created by RNAO to implement guidelines, organizations can also make a formal commitment to uptake of BPGs.
- Spotlight Organizations are health-care organizations selected by the Registered Nurses’ Association of Ontario (RNAO) through a Request for Proposals process to implement, evaluate and share lessons learned from their guideline experiences and research findings.
Nursing Smoking Cessation Best Practice Champions Network:
- Individual nurses can also make a commitment to RNAO BPGs!
- Smoking Cessation Best Practice Champions are nurses and other health care professionals who are passionate about smoking cessation best practices and work to improve nursing practice and client care in their organization. Champions can be anyone who will be able to have an influence on the organizational and/or unit/program level.
The RNAO Best Practice Guideline: "Integrating Smoking Cessation into Daily Nursing Practice". This BPG includes recommendations to support the implementation of smoking cessation best practices into nurses' daily practice across all health care sectors.

This short video educates youth about the importance of not smoking cigarettes. Given that many smokers have their first experience with cigarettes during their youth, it is crucial to inform young people about the consequences of smoking, both to themselves and to loved ones.
